!The date of death on the tombstone of Nancy shows her 79 yrs. old and dying 23 Jul 1926. That would be a birth year of 1847. She was 22 in the 1870 census of Ware Co. Ga. That would give a close birth year of 1848. the 1880, 1885 & 1900 censuses vary five or more yrs. but the 1920 census she is living with her oldest daughter and her age shows as 72 , born in 1848. So '47 or '48 is correct. I have not proved the maiden name of Nancy but am using info gathered from Ancestry World tree submitted by Renee Futch.

John and Sarah were the parents of 11 children and several of them touch the families that are connected to Denton Cash. John and Sarah's daughter, Florida Talula, called, Lula, was the grandmother of Harry Brown who married Merilyn Raines, a second cousin to Denton Cash. Now it turns out that this Mary Altman, sister to Sampson Altman, is the GGG-grandmother of Denton and Merilyn. Mary Altman married James W. Whidden, the GGG-Grandfather of Merilyn and Denton. That makes Harry Brown a 5th cousin to his wife, Merilyn, and Denton. That also makes Maude Griffin Ellerbe Palmer, who married Talmadge Palmer, a 3rd cousin once removed, to her husband. Maude and Talmadge raised Harry and Alton Brown after their parents both died while the boys were young. Harry and Alton's mother, Cassie Palmer Brown, was the sister of Talmadge Freeman Palmer...........Wow!, how the world turns, and turns, and turns. The siblings of Maude Griffin Ellerbe Palmer are, Leslie, brother, Pearl, Lois, Annie, Howard, and Bob. There were also 4 half siblings to them who don't tie into the Reynolds family.

!Thomas and Lydia Altman were in Montgomery Co. Ga. in 1708 as evidenced by the tax digest for that year. On Nov. 11 1803 they sold to Daniel Howard, Tatnall Co. Ga., 200 acres of land that was in then Montgomery Co.Ga.He served as a private under Lt. William Colley from Aug. 20 to Sep. 14, 1813 building forts and the Telfair Co. frontier. He drew lot # 319 in the district 5 of Appling Co. Ga. 1821 land lottery. He was residing at that time in the 9th district. He also drew lot # 258 in the 4th district of Walton Co. Ga.
Thomas Altman is listed in the 1830 census of Ware Co. Ga. as 70-80 yrs old. A female is listed with him as 40-50 yrs old which was probably his second wife. Three males and four females are listed with them. It is not know when Thomas or his wives died or where they are buried. Contributed by Lillian Lee Corbitt from the notes of Judge Folks Huxford.
!It is evident that Elizabeth is from another wife of Thomas, as Lydia is believed to have died in 1810. Other reseachers have listed a wife named Lydia also, born in 1798, but that does not coincide with the 1830 census showing a female of 40/50 yrs old. This age would put her born between 1770 and 1780 which is more likely. The last daughter, Elizabeth, is born in 1820. | Thomas ALTMAN
